UConn set to re-do key intersection

University of Connecticut officials have almost completed the design portion of a project that will realign Mansfield Road at the intersection of Route 195.
Mansfield Road is one of the major entrances to the university and connects to the center of campus near Mirror Lake. It is located next to the university’s Music Building.

Access has funding for anti-poverty initiatives

Have a good idea to fight homelessness and poverty in the Windham Region but need funding to carry out the idea?
The Access Agency Inc., a nonprofit community action agency, is looking to distribute 10 grants worth $10,000 each for a total of $100,000.

Family of murder victim warns of killer’s release

Edward Francis Boyle is beginning his return into society and one former area resident said women everywhere should be concerned.
Boyle is being released today from the Osborne Correctional Institution in Somers, a medium-security state prison, after serving a five-year prison sentence for two counts of second-degree sexual assault.
