Eastern bustling once again

Move-in weekend went ahead as scheduled for students returning to Eastern Connecticut State University, despite rainy weather during freshmen move-in Saturday that had students dodging raindrops.
Edward Osborn, ECSU spokesman, said this morning that move-in was “largely uneventful” and the rain Saturday was likely inconvenient for some.

CRRA suspends plan for ash landfill

FRANKLIN - Officials from the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority have decided to suspend indefinitely its plans for a proposed ash landfill in Franklin.

Lebanon takes action for farms

Attendees at a town meeting in Lebanon Monday overwhelmingly passed a so-called “right-to-farm” ordinance, but not without some opposition and even a few residents raising objections to the voting process.
